Post-game Remarks

Oakland jumped out to an early lead over the Golden Eagles, but ORU got back into the game, cutting the lead to 5 at halftime. In the 2nd half, it became a nip-and-tuck game, with the lead changing hands at least twice in the final minute. OU had two 3 attemps in the final 30 seconds, and they crashed the boards to give themselves 3rd and 4th chances, finally getting an out-of-bounds situation under their basket with 8 seconds to go, but the inbounds pass was fumbled and stolen by ORU. Camargo missed the front-end of the 1-and-1, but OU was unable to get the desparation shot to go, and ORU returns last weeks favor winning 55-54.

The Jaguars sought revenge for their loss at the ARC recently, and they slowly took control of the game, leading 27-21 at the half. In the 2nd half they couldn't miss and all of Valpo's attempts to charge back were thwarted. IUPUI wins, 63-55.

The Westerwinds had no trouble with Chicago State in the first half, leading 36-16 at the half. The 2nd half, as is usually the case, was fairly even, meaning the Cougars were unable to get back into the game. Western Illinois wins, 63-45.

Southern Utah and UMKC had a tough battle in Kansas City, with UMKC holding a slim lead at the half, 26-24. Mid-way through the 2nd half, the Roos were able to extend their lead with some hot 3-point shooting, first to 6, then to 9, and they never looked back, winning 69-54.

Western Illinois has the #1 seed.

One IUPUI win or one Valpo loss clinches the #2 seed for IUPUI (They both are 0-2 against WIU, 1-1 against each other, but IUPUI is 2-0 against Oakland and ORU, while Valpo may finish 2-0 against ORU but they are 1-1 against Oakland)

On the other hand, it takes a combination of Valpo wins and Oakland losses equal to 2 for Valpo to clinch the #3 seed, because Valpo is 0-2 against WIU while Oakladn is 1-1 against them.

Meanwhile, we know that the #8 seed is between SUU and CC, everybody else is in. They are 1-1 against each other, they both are 0-2 against WIU, Valpo, IUPUI, Oakland, and ORU. SUU is 1-1 against CSU, while CC is 1-1 against UMKC, so the tiebreaker between them depends on who finishes higher between Chicago State and UMKC who are tied current at 6-8.
