Breaking the tie between ORU and IUPUI:

The two teams split against each other

vs. 3-way tie for 4th: IUPUI 4-2, ORU 5-1

ORU wins the #1 seed, leaving IUPUI with the #2 seed.

UMKC stands alone in 3rd place with the #3 seed.

Breaking the tie between VU, SUU, and CSU:

The three teams split against each other, both individually and collectively
vs. #1 ORU: VU 1-1, SUU 0-2, CSU 0-2

VU wins the #4 seed.

Breaking the tie between SUU and CSU:

The two teams split against each other
vs. #1 ORU: SUU 0-2, CSU 0-2
vs. #2 IUPUI: SUU 1-1, CSU 1-1
vs. #3 UMKC: SUU 1-1, CSU 0-2

SUU wins the #5 seed.
CSU wins the #6 seed.

OU stands alone with the 7 seed.

Did You Know...

The last year Valpo finished with .500 or worse conference record was 1992-1993 - 13 years ago.

The last time Valpo played Southern Utah in the tourney was March 6, 2001 in Fort Wayne, losing the championship game to the T-Birds, 62-59. Jeff Monaco, Fred House, et. al. nearly pulled off an upset of #3 seed Boston College in the NCAA first round, just missing sending the game to overtime on a 3 point shot by Fred House at the buzzer.

The last time ORU played Western Illinois in the tourney was March 3, 2002 in Fort Wayne, beating the Leathernecks 87-75 in overtime, but losing Reggie Borges to a season ending leg injury. The Golden Eagles lost in the semifinals to IUPUI, 58-53.

The last time IUPUI played Oakland in the tourney was March 3, 2002 in Fort Wayne, Oakland's first year of eligibility for the tournament. The Jaguars beat the last Oakland team dominated by players recruited while still at Division II level - the Champaign brothers, Brad Budenborg and Jason Roczyki, along with an upstart sophomore named Mike Helms. The final score was 90-84.

The last time UMKC played Chicago State in the tourney was March 5, 2000 in Fort Wayne, eking out a 1 point victory over the #6 Cougars, 62-61, before getting blown out by Southern Utah, 72-54.
