Mid-Con Men's Basketball "Road to Tulsa"

School W-L Home Away Sweeps Swept By Split Magic Number
------ --- ---- ---- ------ -------- ----- ------------
1. IUPUI 9-1 5-0 4-1 OU,UMKC
2. ORU 9-2 6-0 3-2 CSU,SUU WIU 6
3. UMKC 6-4 3-2 3-2 CC IUPUI 3 [1]*
4. Valpo 6-5 4-2 2-3 CC OU,SUU 3
5. SUU 5-5 4-1 1-4 ORU VU 2 [2]*
6. OU 4-7 3-3 1-4 WIU IUPUI VU E [3]*
7. CSU 3-6 2-2 1-4 ORU
8. WIU 3-8 2-3 1-5 CC OU ORU
9. CC 2-9 1-4 1-5 UMKC,VU,
WIU

[1]* Technically, UMKC's magic number is 4, except for losing the tiebreaker with IUPUI via head-to-head competition.

[2]* Not that it's a huge possibility given their poor road record, but the T-Birds lose if they tie with ORU since they were swept by them. If they tie with IUPUI and manage to split with them, the issue would still be in doubt, but if they tied with both, they'd still lose out, because the best they can do in head-to-head-to-head is 1-3, and the worst ORU can do is 3-1.

[3]* The best Oakland can do is tie IUPUI, and they've already lost the tiebreaker.

Certainly the Jaguars and the Golden Eagles have pretty good grip on the top 2 seeds, and they have a game remaining in "The Jungle" (what ooey-pooey-ites call The Natatorium Gym). As a matter of fact, the Jags have one more home game left than ORU does, and that thriller is it. These are the same 2 teams that fought to triple-OT in Indy 2 years ago.
