MACOMB -- Samuel Haanpaa scored 18 of his 27 points from 3-point range as Valparaiso beat Western Illinois.

Shawn Huff had 18 points and Brandon McPherson added 13 for the Crusaders (8-10, 3-2 Mid-Continent). Haanpaa, Huff and McPherson combined to hit 11 of Valparaiso's 12 3-pointers and McPherson dished out a game-high seven assists.

David Jackson's 16 points made him the only player to score in double figures for Western Illinois (4-15, 0-5). The Leathernecks scored 22 points off Valparaiso turnovers and got 27 points from their bench but never managed to lead in the game.

Oral Roberts 59, Chicago State 53

TULSA, Okla. -- Caleb Green and Ken Tutt combined to score Oral Roberts' last 15 points over the final eight minutes to help the Golden Eagles outlast Chicago State.

Tutt, who was 5-of-8 from the field, paced Oral Roberts (12-7) with 16 points while Green scored 14. Shawn King contributed 11 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots for the Golden Eagles, which won their sixth straight basketball game.

David Holston led Chicago State (7-15) with 18 points, but was limited to two in the second half. John Cantrell added 14 points and Kourtney Calvin had 12 rebounds for the Cougars, who led 32-28 at halftime.
