VALPARAISO, IND. - The Westerwinds started strong but hit just 5 of 24 shots in the second half as the host overcame a seven-point halftime deficit for a 58-46 Mid-Continent Conference victory.

Gina Hugelier and DeeDee Murphy were the only Westerwinds in double figures with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

KALAMAZOO — Joe Reitz scored eight of his game-high 24 points in overtime to lead Western Michigan.
Reitz survived foul trouble to score 16 points in the second half and overtime combined. The junior center hit all five shots he took and converted 14-of-18 free throws as the Broncos (12-14) overcame a seven-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation.
Urule Igbavboa scored a career-high 21 points and had nine rebounds for Valparaiso (14-14).
Shawntes Gary added 19 points for Western Michigan, which reached a season high in points scored. David Kool and Derek Fracalossi each scored 16.
