OU’s Pike earns academic honor--The Oakland Press

Oakland University junior Jessica Pike was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV second team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
It marks the third time in the Division I era that an Oakland women’s basketball player has been selected for the honor. Nicole Piggott was honored twice.
A native of Clawson, Pike has twice been named The Summit League Player of the Week, and was honored as Athlete of the Month for December. Pike leads the Grizzlies with 16.6 points per game, and ranks among the team leaders with 3.9 rebounds per contest and has dished out 59 assists, second-best on the OU squad.
Last year, Pike was named to the Mid-Con Academic All-Conference team, and the Mid-Con Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence.
To be nominated, the studentathlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA for his or her career.
