VALPARAISO 60, SUU 45

At Tulsa, Okla., Southern Utah women's basketball came to the end of its season with a defeat to Valparaiso in the first round of the Mid-Continent Conference Basketball Championships on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Crusaders will advance to face the winner of Oral Roberts and UMKC on Monday afternoon.
Despite the defeat, SUU coach Steve Hodson praised his team's effort and acknowledged their advantage of shot attempts and fewer turnovers than their opposition.
"I thought we played well and did some good things," Hodson said. "The shots just didn't fall and Valpo was able to make some great shots and won some of the position battles."
