CENTENARY: After traveling to IPFW and Oakland last week, the Centenary women's basketball team will be in the Gold Dome for a pair of important conference games against IUPUI today and Western Illinois on Monday.
Last week was not good for Centenary, as it battled back to grab a three point lead at IPFW, but it still was not enough in the end falling by 12. At Oakland on Monday, the Ladies could not keep up with the fast paced Golden Grizzlies, as Centenary fell to 0-5 in conference play.

CENTENARY: The Centenary men's basketball team faces a tough test today at 5:30 p.m. when Summit League preseason favorite IUPUI comes to town. The Gents would like to build off of their recent win over Western Illinois and carry some momentum into what are two winnable road contests at Southern Utah and UMKC next week.
Centenary (8-10, 2-4 Summit) outlasted Western Illinois for a 95-88 home victory on Thursday by sinking 36-of-44 free throw attempts for almost 82 percent. The game was a nip-and-tuck affair until Lance Hill drilled a three-pointer with just over two minutes to play to send the Gents on to the win.
On Thursday, Centenary was able to improve in two areas it had been lacking in recently, turnovers and rebounding. The Gents committed five fewer miscues than Western Illinois and out-rebounded the Leathernecks by one. In addition, the team shot 47 percent from the floor and made good on 13 consecutive free throws to seal the game.
What started off as a one-man show with guard Tyrone Hamilton carrying the Gents in the first half with 16 points, ended in a balanced offensive attack. Hamilton finished with 21 points while Hill (19), Nick Stallings (18), and Chase Adams (17) all contributed significantly.
