BASKETBALL: Southern Utah University's men's basketball team has received commitments from three players to join the Thunderbirds for the 2007-08 season, first-year head coach Roger Reid announced.
Committing to join the Thunderbirds are Geoff Payne, Tyler Quinney and John Clifford. The group is already well acquainted with Coach Reid, as all three are following Reid to SUU from Snow College, where the team compiled a 23-8 overall record and finished first in the Scenic West Athletic Conference last year.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Bingham's Stephanie Sampson completes what head coach Steve Hodson is calling SUU's "Fab 5" of signees as the state's 5A MVP submitted her national letter of intent to play for the Thunderbirds next season. She joins 4A MVP Jaime Sagers of Orem High and all-state selection Caitlyn Sears of Lone Peak High to round out the in-state additions.


Butler, IUPUI sign players--The Indy Star

Christian Siakam, a 6-7, 230-pound forward from a Cincinnati prep school, signed to play basketball at IUPUI.
"I talked to a lot of people who signed there, and my AAU coach," Siakam said.
"He's a good friend of the head coach at IUPUI (Ron Hunter). I talked to coach Hunter, and everything's really good."
Siakam averaged 16 points and 13 rebounds last year for Harmony Community School.
Originally from Cameroon, Siakam came to America in 2003 and played only on travel teams until enrolling at Harmony last fall.
